Lou Bryan Macabodbod – Corporate and Litigation Lawyer
Lou Bryan R. Macabodbod is a corporate and litigation lawyer who has been a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines since 2013. Prior to joining Kittelson & Carpo Consulting, he was a Senior Associate at Fortun Narvasa & Salazar (FNS Law), one of the leading litigation firms in the country. While at FNS Law, Lou was exposed to corporate, litigation, labor and intellectual property practice. He has appeared, argued, and presented evidence before trial courts, quasi-judicial agencies, the Sandiganbayan, and the Court of Appeals. He also represented clients in negotiations involving labor disputes and in illegal dismissal cases before the National Labor Relations Commission. Further, he handled a number of trademark applications and led a team that executed a judgment in a copyright infringement case. Apart from all these, he also handled a number of retainer accounts and did corporate housekeeping work, incorporation, contract reviews, and due diligence reports.
Lou obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law in 2012. During his senior year, he interned at the UP Office of Legal Aid where he assisted indigent clients in various labor, civil and criminal cases. He also did research work for the Institute of Human Rights at the UP Law Center and the Committee on the New University Code Project of UP. In 2010, he was an intern at Puyat, Jacinto & Santos where he was tasked to draft legal memoranda on labor and civil law issues. Later that year, he became part of the staff of Representative Rolando Uy of the First District of Cagayan de Oro at the House of Representatives.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UP Diliman where he graduated cum laude and was inducted as member of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society for the Social Sciences in 2008.
