Amira Mediodia
Ms. Mediodia is a Certified Public Accoutant (CPA). Prior to joining K&C Amira spent four years as the Internal Audit Department Manager of Sorsogon Electric Company, a Bicol-based distribution utility that is the sole electric service supplier to the whole Sorsogon Province. As internal auditor she gained extensive exposure on design, installation and implementation of the overall financial and administrative control system of the organization, primarily responsible for the safeguarding of its assets; reviewing the accuracy and completeness of its financial statements; ensuring adherence to company’s policies and promoting operational efficiency. In addition, she represents the company in its various tax assessment issues with the Bureau of Internal Revenue. Amira had 7 other accountants reporting to her.
She also had a brief stint at Land Bank of the Philippines as loans analyst. This job honed her accounting skills, being mainly in charge of the actuarial estimation of the commercial and agricultural loans of the various clients of the bank.
A consistent honor student during her academic years, she graduated cum laude from Bicol University where she got her bachelor’s degree in Accountancy. She reviewed at the premier CPA review school CPAR and successfully passed the board examinations in October 2003.
Amira is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and is also the vice-president of the Association of Bicol Electric Cooperatives’ Internal Auditors (ABECIA).
At present she is in her sophomore year in law school in addition to working at K&C.
