BI Allows Temporary Visitors to Pay ECCs at International Airports in the Philippines

Temporary Visitor ECC

The Bureau of Immigration (BI), in a press release dated March 26, temporarily allows holders of Temporary Visitor’s Visa to obtain their Emigration Clearance Certificates (ECCs) at international airports in the Philippines.

Due to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, BI implements the said temporary measure to prevent the influx of applications for ECC processing to be filed by foreign nationals leaving the Philippines.

ECC, issued to temporary visitors or foreign passport holders who are staying in the Philippines for a duration of 6 months or more, is an important document proving the non-existence of any obligation or derogatory records from the government before a foreign visitor can be allowed to depart the country.
