Long-Stay Visitor Visa Extension – Philippines
New for 2013, the Philippine Bureau of Immigration has implemented a new visa option for tourists to the Philippines, the Long-Stay Visitor Visa Extension. The LSVVE is available to temporary visitors coming to the Philippines for business, pleasure, or for reasons of health. This visa allows a foreign traveler to the Philippines to stay for a six-month period. Whereas previously, tourists could only apply for two-month visa extensions at a time, this will allow foreigners more flexibility and convenience in planning longer stays in the country.
How long can I stay in the Philippines with an LSVVE?
The LSVVE allows a foreign visitor to obtain permission to stay in the country for 6 months. Additional LSVVE visas can be obtained in succession upon expiry, so that a foreign national can stay in the Philippines for up to 16 months. Additionally, with the approval of the Commissioner, a stay of 16 to 24 or 36 months is possible, depending on the nationality of the visitor.
Who may obtain a long-stay visitor visa extension?
Foreigners of all nationalities can avail of the LSVVE.
